ZOO Chapultepec

Noise, traffic, people, stench in the air, concrete... we had to get away from the city bustle. But where? "Let's go to ZOO Chapultepec" said Boris.

We had expected a quite place, sitting on a bench, eating an ice creme,... Surprisingly there was many school group and families with little kinds. Actually Mexican government supports education. For these reason is free entry to the ZOO and consequently a crush.

The ZOO Chapultepec provides homes a wide range of worlds animals. Special place in the ZOO takes Mexican hairless dog Xoloitzcuintle who is threatened with extinction.

Mentioned ZOO has been evolving a reproductive laboratory for the giant pandas. In captivity born pandas are only in China and Mexico.

Our educational trip was finished horrible. Suddenly the memory card broke down. In few days in Mexico we took some nice photos. We were terribly angry and we didn't know what to do. The only way was that we continued our journey and bought new memory card. How we got all photos back, we'll tell later.

Teotihuacán

The most vised archaeological attraction in Mexico is Teotihuacán. It is ancient city where are located magnificent pyramids.
Piramide del sol
Piramide del sol is the third largest pyramid. It is 70 meters high and 222 meters long. If you want to reach top of the pyramid, you have to climb 248 stairs. It is very interesting that piramide de la luna looks higher, because it is built on higher ground.

Off course we visited site museum with beautiful botanical garden.

Ancient treasures are exhibited on special way, with emphasize on decoration. Explanation is also in English. Commendable!

Buying a power adapter

Life here is completely different which we used to. We had some problems.
We went to sleep when others went go out and we woke up, when all fiestas were finished.
When we wanted to order food in english, we were really surprised, because almost nobody speak english. For Mexicans is english menu like a science fiction. Fortunately we had a dictionary.
All batteries were empty. Furthermore we did not have a power adapter. All day we were trying to find a electric adapter. We checked in dozen of electronic shops. The day was hot and we were too tired to continued our search action. Sadly we went back to a hostel. In front of the hostel, local people sell all thing, like as clothes, food, chairs, toys,.... One old men had a power adapter. It was a miracle!!!!
Streets are very noisy and crowded. During the night working Mexican clean all streets. This picture was taken at 8 pm.

How to use metro

Finally, we arrived in Mexico City early in the morning.
First time we opened Lonely Planet of Mexico and chose our hostel.
Palacio de Bellas Artes
El Ángel de la Independencia

The best public transport is definitely metro, which is very fast and costs only 2 pesos. In the map we saw that we have to go on metro number 2. On the station we were waiting and waiting and waiting. We saw metro number 96, 60, 43,.... but where is number 2. After one hour we found out that 2 is the number of metro line and 96, 60, 43 are numbers of particular vehicles. We know.... but we newer before use metro. In the metro was so crowded, it was impossible to move. Word for word, there was fight for fresh air.
.

Airport is located in the heard of the city.
By the way in whole Slovenia live 2 million people. In Mexico City live 25 million people.
